教學目標 Course Objectives：

This course aims to develop students’ writing skills with a focus on paragraph writing - descriptive, narrative and compare and contrast paragraphs. The class will also introduce essay writing. The class will employ a variety of in-class writing activities and assignments.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Develop controlling ideas with adequate support and logical organization.
2. Use connecting words (i.e., transitional words and phrases) to achieve cohesion.
3. Identify different genres and use writing styles appropriate for each.
